Amelia Farinas

Amelia is a postdoctoral scholar in the Greicius lab. She earned her B.S. in Molecular Biophysics & Biochemistry from Yale University and her Ph.D. in Neuroscience from Stanford University in Tony Wyss-Coray’s lab. Her doctoral research used large-scale proteomic and multiomic approaches to investigate the molecular mechanisms of brain aging. A major focus of her work was characterizing human blood-brain barrier function using paired cerebrospinal fluid and blood proteomic data, leading to the identification of proteins whose transport into the brain changes with aging, dementia, and genetic factors. In the Greicius lab, Amelia aims to use high-dimensional multiomic data to uncover molecular drivers of unexpected cognitive decline or resilience in individuals with Alzheimer's disease.
